The Cultivating Raices 2026: The State of Chicago Latine Archives and Stories is a preliminary report that inventories and analyzes the existing landscape of Latine archival collections and storytelling projects in the Chicagoland area. It identifies where these collections and projects live, who is stewarding them, and their condition and accessibility. This report is a critical first-step towards positively impacting the sustainability, diversity, and accessibility of Chicago’s Latine histories.

Cultivating Raices 2026: The State of Chicago Latine Archives and Stories is unique in that, as far as Raices Chicago is aware of, it is the first report of its kind.
